Health Fair
1. Medicare will cover your cheek swab testing.

Correct! While Medicare may cover genetic testing in rare situations, they are not going to cover the testing of a cheek swab from a health fair. It isn’t a preventative service, and if your doctor thinks it’s something you need, they’ll write an order for it.

Oops! This isn't correct.

2. Medicare only covers scooters in certain situations.

Correct! This is a classic scam trying to sell you products you don’t need. If you think you need a mobility aid, or anything else to help with your recovery, talk with your doctor. They’ll be able to assess your needs and write a prescription. Also, if you can get around without it, the exercise is good for you.

Oops! This isn't correct.

3. Despite the good insurance offer, it’s best to review the information before changing plans.

Correct! If you want to change plans, be sure to take time to review the policy. You’ll want to ensure your healthcare providers are covered before making any big changes. Never be afraid to take the time to ask questions.

Oops! This isn't correct.

4. Your personal information is ok to give out for a raffle since they need to contact you if you win.

Correct! By providing your contact information, you’ve opened yourself to potentially fraudulent phone calls and home visits. While no ill will may be intended, it’s a good idea to not hand out your personal information to people you don’t know. Also, never give out your Medicare number to someone you don’t know and trust.

Oops! This isn't correct.
